The ECOG-ACRIN Patient Reported Outcomes Valet Interface and Data Entry Systems (PROVIDEs) is a
web portal that allows an easy to use interface for CRA to enter participant completed surveys
online on any web enabled device at their convenience. Getting an account and completing our
surveys should be easy and convenient, please let us know if there is anything we can do to make
this process better for you.
I’m a CRA, how do I get an account?
- RA accounts are created by faxing the CRA account creation request form to the Outcomes
and Economics Assessment Unit at 1‑401‑863-9635. (Accounts are generally created within 2
business days)

- You will receive an email at the email address listed on the CRA account creation
request form asking you to click on the link to verify your account.
How do I verify my account?
- After faxing your account request, the OEAU will verify your eligibility and create your
account. The system will automatically send you an “Account Verification” email with a unique
token.
- Click the link in the email (or copy and paste the URL including the token into your browser) to be taken to account verification section of the PRO web Portal.
- You will be asked to set your password
- You will be asked to select a security question and response
- Your account will be activated and you will received a CRA “Account Validated” email.
If you are unable to validate your account, please email
pro-help@stat.brown.edu with your name, phone number, and institution so we may assist you in
resolving any problems.
I’m not getting the emails. What do I do?
The most common reason emails are
not received are because you spam, junk and/or personal email filters may be
redirecting or deleting PRO system emails. Emails from the PRO system are from pro-help@stat.brown.edu
- Search your email for pro-help@stat.brown.edu
and if it is in your junk/spam folder, mark it as not junk/spam. If it is not in your inbox,
then one of your personal filters is redirecting it and may need to be modified.
- Make sure pro-help@stat.brown.edu is part of
your white list; This is normally done simply by adding pro-help@stat.brown.edu to your address book (review your email documentation on how to do this on your system)
If you are still not receiving emails, please email pro-help@stat.brown.edu
with your name, phone number, and institution and we will try to assist you in resolving this
problem.
I forgot my password. What do I do?
No Problem. Just go back to the portal
(https://provides.stat.brown.edu) and click the forgot password link and enter the email address
used to set up the account, choose and answer the security
question you entered when you set up the account.
How do I enter PRO data for a study participant?
- Log into the PRO Valet Interface and Data Entry System (PROVIDES) using your email address
and password at https://provides.stat.brown.edu
(NOTE: This is a secure site requiring the
“https” prefix. If the trailing s is missing you will not be able to get to the site and will
receive an error.)
- You will be asked to select the protocol number, ECOG-ACRIN case number (Subject ID), the
survey time point (either the patient baseline, or the Surgeon pre-surgery form), the
participant DOB (for verification) and the date the patient or the surgeon completed the
form. Click “Begin PRO data Entry” to start entering the survey responses.
- For data entry you will be presented with the same exact screens as would be presented to
the participant (see participant data entry for details)
- To ensure the integrity of the data, the Valet, Information & Data Entry System requires all survey modules for a subject to be completed in a single log in session. If you are disconnected for any reason, you will be required to re-enter all modules of the survey for the subject from the beginning.
